1. Who we are

Horizon Solar Energy ("Horizon", "we", "us") designs and installs solar energy systems in the Philippines. This policy explains what we do with personal information collected through horizonsolar.net.

We are the personal information controller for that data. You can reach us about anything in this policy at sales@horizonsolar.net, or write to us at Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.

2. What we collect

When you ask for an estimate, we collect your name, your email address, your monthly electricity bill amount, and your phone number if you choose to give it. The phone number is optional.

When you contact us directly, by email, phone or social media, we keep what you send us so we can reply and keep track of the conversation.

When you visit the site, our hosting and analytics providers may record technical information such as your device type, browser, approximate location and the pages you looked at.

When you become a customer, we collect what is needed to design and install your system — your installation address, details of your roof and your electricity supply, and your utility account details for the permit and net metering applications.

3. Why we collect it, and on what basis

We use your details to prepare your estimate and reply to you about it — that is the reason you gave them to us, and we do not use them for anything else without asking you first.

If you become a customer, we use your information to design, permit, install, monitor and service your system, and to meet our obligations to your distribution utility and to the authorities that issue permits.

We keep records where the law requires it, including tax and accounting records.

We will only send you marketing if you have told us you want it, and you can stop it at any time.

4. Who else sees it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

We share it only where it is needed to do the work: with the utility, for permit and net metering applications, with the engineers and installation crew assigned to your project, and with our email, hosting and analytics providers, who process it on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for anything else.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to.

5. How long we keep it

If you ask for an estimate and do not go ahead, we keep your enquiry for 24 months from your last contact with us, so that we can pick up the conversation if you come back to us. After that we delete it.

If you become a customer, we keep your records for the life of your system and its warranties, and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting law requires.

6. How we protect it

We keep your information on services that require accounts and passwords to reach, we limit access to the people who need it to do their work, and we review that access as our team changes.

No system is completely secure, but if a breach ever put your information at real risk, we would tell you and the National Privacy Commission as the law requires.

7. Your rights

Under the Data Privacy Act you have the right to be told what we hold about you and to have a copy of it; to have anything inaccurate corrected; to object to how we are using it; to have it deleted or blocked in the circumstances the Act allows; to receive it in a portable form; and to be compensated for damage caused by its misuse.

To exercise any of these, write to sales@horizonsolar.net and we will respond within 15 working days.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the National Privacy Commission at privacy.gov.ph.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will contact you about it.
